Former LOVE/HATE Frontman Makes Rarities Available Online
February 12, 2002Former LOVE/HATE and current RATT frontman Jizzy Pearl has made available for download via his official web site LOVE/HATE's entire fourth album, I'm Not Happy, as well as a host of LOVE/HATE demos recorded at various points during the band's career. According to Pearl, “I have included the fourth LOVE/HATE record I'm Not Happy as MP3s so those of you that didn't even know we had a fourth record or have grown tired of trying to find it can have it. It's got a few really good songs on it such as 'Superfragilistic', 'Night Crawler' and 'Lady Jane'. It's a better record than I thought it was back then but that probably has something to do with the times we were going through (see LOVE/HATE History Chapter 14). It wasn't such a great time to be LOVE/HATE. For those of you that are interested, [former bassist] Skid is now head of his own company Dreamtree Media and is apparently doing quite well. From what I hear [former drummer] Joey has a new job working where his sister works at a Defense Company for the Government, TRW or something like that. He recently had a loss in his family and I'd like to offer my condolences for him and his at this time. [Former guitarist] Jon....don't know what he's up to. I bring all this sh.t up again to explain why the originals will not be coming to the UK [for the group's upcoming reunion tour as the support act for former GUNS N' ROSES guitarist Gilby Clarke].
“I have also included some new unreleased demos of LOVE/HATE recorded at various times in our career. Skid was such a prolific writer that we always had a lot of new songs to pick from. Why weren't these ever included on a record? Who knows but here they are to listen to and enjoy.
“ 'Find My Way' -- written between Blackout In The Red Room and Wasted In America, one of many.
“ 'Smokin' Up A Storm' -- another pot song. I think that's why we never released it.
“ 'When The Well Runs Dry' -- great song, awesome chorus. This was recorded after Wasted.
“ 'I Look At You' -- written between Blackout… and Wasted….
“ 'When Tomorrow Comes' -- the original version which smokes the one that came out on the Livin' Off Layla record -- I think you'll agree. Great song.”
